Dry January 'mocktail' ideas...

So, we are already half way through January, can you believe it?! And here at Crabb & Fox Mobile Bar Hire Norfolk, we understand that many of you want to kick off your new year with a healthy start. For lots of you, that means 'Dry January'! A whole month with no booze! This could be tricky for some people, so here are 3 non-alcoholic, fruity alternatives that you could have instead and make for yourself at home to avoid having your usual tipple.

1. Pomegranate Mojito Mocktail.

Ingredients...

- 3 tbsp pomegranate seeds

- 2 limes, quartered, plus slices to garnish

- 1 big bunch of mint

- 1l pomegranate juice

- 500ml lemonade

Method...

A day ahead, divide the pomegranate seeds between the holes in an ice cube tray, top up with water and freeze.Reserve half the mint for serving, and tear the rest into a large jug with the lime quarters. Using a rolling pin, bash the mint and lime to release the flavours. Add the pomegranate juice and lemonade. Put ice cubes in each glass, then strain over the pomegranate mix through a small sieve. Garnish with lime slices and more mint.

2. Apple, Elderflower & mint sparkle.

Ingredients...

- 75ml elderflower cordial

- 1l cloudy apple juice

- Small handful of mint leaves, roughly chopped

- Bottle of sparkling water

Method...

For a grown-up non-alcoholic drink, mix elderflower cordial with cloudy apple juice. Add a small handful mint leaves, stir well, then pour into a chilled flask. Pour half glasses of the juice and top up with sparkling water.

3. Frozen spicy pineapple & coconut virgin daiquiri.

Ingredients...

- 60ml pineapple juice

- 30ml coconut milk

- 1-2 tsp jalapeno simple syrup (depending on the sweetness and heat of the syrup)

- 1/2 lime, juiced 1/2 to 1 cup ice

- Tajin and pineapple wedge to garnish

Method...

Simply blend all of the ingredients together, dust the rim of the glass with Tajin fruit seasoning and pour the mixture in. Garnish with pineapple wedge.
